Last updated: September 20, 2026 This policy describes how IDK Eats version 1.0.5 for iOS and the existing Android version handle information when you find nearby places, view ads, and save your visit history. LOCATION AND NEARBY SEARCH With your permission, IDK Eats accesses your location while you use the app to find places within 4 miles. Your search coordinates are sent to an Overpass API service that searches OpenStreetMap listings. These requests can include precise coordinates, depending on the location permission you grant. The service also receives the network information needed to handle the request, such as your IP address. The app saves the latest search area and restaurant results on your device to reduce repeated requests. It refreshes saved results after one hour while active or when you move outside the saved area. It does not monitor your location in the background. You can change or revoke location access in your device settings. Nearby search requires location access. ADVERTISING IDK Eats displays banner and interstitial ads supplied by Google AdMob. This version requests non-personalized ads. Where required, Google’s consent interface lets you review your choices. An Ad privacy choices control appears in the app when Google requires that option. Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect an IP address used to estimate general location, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash logs, and performance information. Google uses this information for purposes including advertising, analytics, and improving its services. Non-personalized ads do not mean that no data is collected. These local totals do not include restaurant choices, location, or user identifiers. Ad timing is saved locally. OPTIONAL META AND TIKTOK AD MEASUREMENT (iOS 1.0.5) Earlier iOS builds offer optional Meta measurement. The TikTok measurement update to iOS 1.0.5 also adds optional TikTok measurement. These features measure our Facebook, Instagram and TikTok ads using the providers’ SDKs. Measurement is off by default and requires both a fresh Allow choice in the app’s Privacy screen and Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission. Previous Meta-only consent does not enable TikTok. You can use restaurant features without allowing measurement. When enabled, Meta and TikTok receive app-install and app-activity events, including completed wheel spins, along with device information, advertising identifiers and technical network information needed to receive those events. Providers may combine this with information from other services to measure advertising effectiveness. Our completed-spin event does not include your location, restaurant choice, ratings or notes. TikTok may also use Apple’s privacy-preserving app-install attribution. You can stop optional measurement by choosing Don’t allow in Privacy or revoking tracking permission in iPhone Settings. Your choice is stored on your device. Turning measurement off stops new events from this feature; it does not erase information already received by the providers. HISTORY AND LOCAL STORAGE IDK Eats stores preferences, nearby results, selection history, visits, ratings, and notes on your device. It does not provide a user account or its own cloud history service. Opening a place in Maps adds it to History. You can delete individual visits in History. Removing the app removes its local app data; device backups are governed by your device and backup settings. MAPS AND SHARING When you request directions, IDK Eats opens the selected place in Maps. Maps handles your use of its service under its own privacy policy. If you choose to share a pick, the app passes the restaurant name, available address, and app link to the sharing option you select. PURCHASES AND EARLIER VERSIONS The current app has no account, subscription, or in-app purchase flow. Earlier versions may have used Apple’s purchase services and RevenueCat. Information processed through those services remains subject to their policies.
